Founded in 1939, BHCP is the oldest cooperative preschool in Virginia. Since its inception, we have embodied the values of community, collaboration and a child-centered educational philosophy. As an auxiliary mission of Beverley Hills United Community Methodist Church, we participate in community outreach activities together.
Reggio-Inspired Emergent Inquiry Curriculum
As educators who firmly believe in the innate capabilities and competencies of children, we observe, listen and reflect in order to design an emergent inquiry curriculum that is responsive to children’s thinking.
Our carefully curated environments offer children opportunities to explore, experiment, problem-solve, develop competencies with a wide variety of materials, engage in social interactions with peers and adults, and continually construct new knowledge.
At BHCP, we nurture research, collaboration and relationships, aiming to instill a life-long love for learning in both children and adults.
