We all love the castle park since it was built by the community 25 years ago, but it needs some major renovations, so you may have heard that a new playground is in the works!!!
We are in the process of working out all the details so that the preschool and church can share them with you later this winter! In the meantime, we are working hard to fundraise so we can create something awesome that kids of all ages will love!!
Kids Consignment Sale March 3rd!
With that being said, we are happy to announce our Spring Consignment Sale! On March 3, 2012 from 8am – 1pm we will be selling all things for kids! You’ll find lots of quality items of clothing, books, toys, baby equipment, maternity clothes and lots more! And, from 12pm to 1pm all items are discounted 50%!!!!

Consignor Guidelines
Thank you for consigning at Beverley Hills Church Preschool’s consignment sale! We’ve developed some guidelines and procedures to help make the sale easy and successful for shoppers and consigners.
In exchange for 50% of sales attributed to each consigner, consigners commit to:
- Consign at least 20 quality items of children’s clothing, maternity clothing, gear, books, costumes, DVD’s or toys. (Unless there are special circumstances like a single high value item.)
- Help us advertise the sale.
- Drop off items during the designated drop off period on Friday, March 2nd 6-8:30pm.
- All items will be discounted by 50% at 12:00 noon. If you do not wish your items to be discounted, please collect and pick up your unsold items by 12 noon.
- The sale ends at 1:00 pm. If you wish to pick up unsold items, please plan on collecting your items before 1:00 pm. All unsold items remaining at 1pm will be donated to charity. Unsold items that are picked up will be reviewed upon exiting the building.
Donations
If you wish simply to donate all items to the sale instead of receiving a 50% commission, please contact bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com or simply drop them off during our drop off period. There may be an opportunity to drop off donated items earlier upon request. If you want to donate an item please write to bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com with a summary of your donated items and needed drop off date.
Volunteering
We are in need of volunteers! If you are a BHCP parent or church member and wish to volunteer for a two hour shift at the drop off, clean up or during the sale, please contact bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com. A volunteer form will be sent out in the upcoming weeks as well.
Registration
You may register by emailing your name and address bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com.
- By registering, you commit to consign at least 20 quality items of children’s clothing, gear, or toys.
- By registering, you confirm that you have read the information outlined on this page.
- Registration is limited to the first 100 consigners.
- Once your information is received, you will receive an email with your consignor number.
- You must have a consignor number before participating in the sale.
Advertising
- We are relying on consignors to help us advertise the sale. Please help us spread the word.
- If you are a member of a community bulletin board or email list, please post information about our sale.
- Flyers in English and Spanish can be printed out and distributed. A flyer will be sent to the school and church upon completion.
Item Preparation
Please review the labeling/item preparation instructions to ensure that you are following the standard.
- Label each item with a standard color masking tape label.
- Use a dark colored marker or sharpie when writing labels.
- Put the label on the outside of the garment in plain sight unless it will ruin the material.
- On toys or equipment, place one label in an obvious location.
- Use only ONE price label on each item.
- Labels must be legible! Do not cross out mistakes, make a new label.
- Cross your 7s if you use European numerals.
- Items with illegible labels or without labels will be sold at the discretion of BHCP volunteers.
- Each label must list the following information in this order
- Consignor Number
- Size
- Description of item (helps to match tags up with item in case of separation and to prevent tag swapping)
- Price
- Use the following sizes only:
0—6 months
6—12 months
12 – 18 months
18 – 24 months
2T, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6, 7, 8
Maternity
Tips for successful selling:
- Please safety pin clothing sets together
- Please do not bring clothing with stains or tears
- Tape together toys with multiple pieces or put them in plastic bags.
- Wrap puzzles securely in plastic wraps. Please be sure puzzles contain all pieces. Loose puzzles will not be put out at the sale.
- Items that run on batteries should have working batteries in them so buyers can confirm that they work.
- Items sold in plastic bags should be labeled using two layers of tape: bottom layer = blank, top layer = price label. This speeds up sticker-pulling.
Acceptable Items
- Acceptable items include children’s clothing, maternity clothing, gear, books, costumes, DVD’s, toys. If you have questions regarding an item, please email bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com
- All seasons will be sold at this sale, please note that items in season will sell better than those that are out of season
- All items at the sale including toys should be in good working order, those which are not will not be sold.
- Beverly Hills Church Preschool reserves the right not to sell any item deemed unacceptable. Items which are unacceptable include adult clothing (except for maternity) or anything dirty, dusty, moldy, with rips or tears, items with missing pieces, cribs and mattresses, or otherwise damaged.
- Unacceptable items include car seats that are more than 5 years old (please check date labels) or have been in an accident.
- Unacceptable items also include any items known to be affected by a recall or that knowingly violate the CPSC guidance listed here: http://cpsc.gov/cpscpub/
prerel/prhtml09/09086.html - It is the consignor’s responsibility to check the Consumer Protection Agency’s website to ensure that there are no recalls on any item the consignor brings to the sale.
- - Although we will do our best to ensure that items are not damaged or stolen during drop-off, the sale, or pick-up, Beverly Hills Church Preschool is not responsible or liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged items as a result of their being consigned at our sale. We will not compensate any consignor if an item is lost, stolen or damaged.
Pricing Guidelines
A good rule of thumb for consignment pricing is 25% – 40% of what you paid for the item depending on the condition and brand. Don’t sell what you wouldn’t buy! If you would like some recommendations, please see the following list:

Drop Off (March 2nd, 6pm – 8:30pm)
- Do not leave your things unattended at drop off. If no committee members or workers are there to accept your items, please wait for one to arrive. They cannot be left at the church or outside the door, and no items will be accepted outside of this time frame.
- All items will be inspected at drop off. The more organized your items are the better (i.e. folded, clean, prices well marked, labels correct, etc.)
Payment
Sellers receive 50% of their total sales. Please allow at least one month for your check to arrive. All checks will be mailed to the the name and address used in registration. If your check hasn’t arrived by April 10th, please contact bhcpconsignment@yahoo.com
